SUMMARY

The Senior Scrum Master is a servant leader for one or more delivery teams within a fast-paced product development environment. This role is intended to help agile teams achieve their goals as high performing units, creating a culture of self-organization, continuous improvement and consistent delivery of software. The Senior Scrum Master facilitates clear communication, escalates risks and proactively removes impediments.

This role within the company is part of the Scrum team and reports to the Director of Program Management. The position’s status is classified as full time, regular, exempt/salary. The position is based at the 1/ST Technology – AmTote International, Inc. location at 11200 Pepper Rd.  Hunt Valley, MD  21031. RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES

●    Facilitates Scrum events, assesses Agile maturity within immediate Scrum teams and organization, and works with management to create Agile roadmaps and coach Scrum teams
●    Acts as an influencer by implementing Agile processes, practices, principles, and values; helps team and company to improve collaboration and self-organization
●    Identifies and helps mitigate program and team level risks/impediments 
●    Represents teams at program level events (Scrum of Scrums, ART Sync, etc) and clearly communicates team accomplishments, impediments, and dependencies
●    Utilizes data, team feedback, and other factors to make decisions and report on quality, delivery rate, throughput, productivity, and velocity
●    Mentors individual Scrum Masters within the group throughout the entire employment lifecycle including (but not limited to) responsibility for recruitment (attracting best/top talent), performance tracking, training and retention of team members
●    Servant leadership role – no direct reports
●    Assists in and/or leads setting and managing team/individual performance KPIs
●    Demonstrates excellent change agent skills utilizing a management style that mentors/coaches team members and colleagues to inspire their best performance which encourages consistency, fairness and transparency
●    Aligns and integrates department goals with other departments fostering partnerships that drive individual and business growth

EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION
●    Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS or related STEM field
●    Minimum 10 years technology experience 
●    Minimum 7 years process/project/program management experience with respect to technology projects
●    Minimum 5 years of Agile experience in a software development environment 
●    Scrum Alliance CSM or PMI’s Agile Certified Professional
●    Experience with best practice agile scrum development and solid knowledge of agile software development methodology and processes
●    Experience working in a fast paced, dynamic agile environment 
●    Demonstrated ability to enthusiastically coach/mentor Agile Methodologies
●    Strong negotiation and influencing skills
●    Demonstrated high level of analytical and problem-solving skills
●    Comfort working with multiple teams and projects, both in-house and remote
●    Individual must be open to learn and understand ‘niche’ industry; knowledge of horseracing/wagering/gaming is a plus
●    Effective, consistent and impeccable communication, interpersonal, leadership, organizational, people management, presentation, project management, teamwork and training skills
●    Self-starter, self-motivator, detail-oriented, highly organized
●    Preferred Experience and/or Education: 
Minimum 1 year scaled Agile environment (SAFe, LeSS, Scrum@Scale, Nexus, DAD, etc)
●    Certified Scrum Trainer (CST), SAFe Scaled Program Consultant (SPC), LeSS Practitioner, and/or Scrum@Scale Practitioner
●    Compensation is commensurate with experience

●    Requires travel up to 25% including travel outside of local area
●    Base Work Location – Position to be based in Hunt Valley, MD
